Human Made Denim Western Shirt

In a simple concept that would be perfect for everyday wear, Human Made has created this Denim Western Shirt in a lighter denim. We did not want to create a product that you will only be able to put on a shelf. It should be worn, washed, left in the sun and slowly become yours.

Fabric and Fit

The shirt is made from 100% cotton lightweight denim, produced in Japan. Light-weight—won’t feel stiff and heavy on your body like denim raw denim. It’s softer from the beginning but it still has structure. Fit is regular; having the normal size will be fine. If you prefer it looser, you can go up one.

Details That Matter

Flap pockets are on both chests, one of the western styles with “DRY ALLS” embroidery on the left pocket. The front placket is not made of plain plastic snap buttons, but is made of “logo” pearl snap buttons. The embroidery on the back is chain-stitch, a typical Human Made detail, if you look closely enough, it’s a bit quirky, if you look far enough, it’s understated. The cuffs are made with three snaps and the hem is curved, making it easy to tuck in or wear out.

How to Wear It

This shirt doesn’t demand much in terms of style. It can be worn on its own with Human Mede’s broad-legged denim or chino shorts or buttoned up two or three buttons. Under a Human Made Jacket, collar showing, it can be used as a mid layer during the cold season. Things to Look Out for Before Washing

Denim bleeds. In particular, the first run of the deep indigo wash – wash it separately, do not wash with lighter colours. Keep water below 30C, use a neutral detergent (no bleach). Before putting in the machine, turn inside out and button up. Embroidery, if there is any, can be turned inside out which reduces friction.

How to Dry It

Don’t use a dryer. Hot air causes uneven shrinkage and fading of cotton. Shape it by hand, hang it upside down in a shaded, well-ventilated area while it is still wet. Direct exposure to the sun causes the indigo to fade in spots. You don’t have to hang it up, if you don’t want to, put it on the floor to dry.

Does This Shirt Shrink?

100% cotton denim will shrink, but not substantially after laundering. Cold wash and no dryer, as above and it retains its size.

May I Wash It in the Washing Machine?

Yes. COLD WATER, NEUTRAL DETECTIVE, WASHED ALONE, INSIDE OUT, BUTTONS CLOSED. If you don’t want to embroider, you can use a laundry bag.

What Is the Best Human Made Size?

This is a standard fit – use your normal size shirt. Take it up a notch for a more relaxed vibe.

Is This a NEW Item?

Does Dark Denim Lead to Light Layers Getting Stained?
