A Straightforward Guide to Human Made College Knit Sweater Black

We make clothes. This is what we do at Human Made. When we offer a piece such as the College Knit Sweater in Black, we want you to KNOW what you’re purchasing before you spend your money. No hype. Only the facts that count.

The front is embellished with our signature animal graphic, knitted in intarsia to preserve sharpness of the colours and flatness of the pattern. This is a round-necked college style which can be layered underneath a jacket or over a tee. The fit is snug, but if you prefer a looser fit, you may want to take one size up. However, the body is slightly shorter than other sweaters and that can be advantageous when paired with higher-waisted pants or higher shirt sleeves.

How to Wear It

Keep it simple. The sweater speaks for itself. Dark denims, cargo trousers or even a basic plain white tee underneath all work. The weight of the knit is mid-weight, so it won’t bulk in the shoulder when worn underneath a coat. And the graphic is in front, so you can throw a plain jacket over that and still have a flash of colour in your movement.

The washing and drying are performed with this section

Wool and Acrylic blends don’t react well to heat. Cannot be treated roughly. Not only don’t they like your dryer, but they definitely don’t like it.

Wash it cold. Hand-washing is best, but if using a washing machine, use a mild detergent designed for wool. Do not wash it after each single use, knitwear doesn’t need that. Just air it out overnight and it will be good for multiple wears.

Don’t wring when wet. Squeeze water out between two clean towels. Spread it on the ground until dry. If you hang your knit dry, it will be stretched out of shape and the dryer will make it shrink to a shape that doesn’t fit you. Do not place near radiators or in direct sunlight.

Use a fabric shaver or a sweater comb when using pills (little fuzz balls). Don’t pull them off with your fingers. Fold it and store it—just not on a hanger—otherwise the shoulders will stretch out.

Yes, mostly. Fits as expected. To get a looser fit, go up a size. This body is a bit lower than normal and taller individuals may find the additional length to be desirable .

May I put it in the dryer?

Answer: No! place on a flat surface to dry. The dryer will shrink it, and cause harm to the wool fibres.

51% wool, 49% acrylic. Has a warm, but not too heavy feel.

What’s the difference between it and the Human Made Hoodie?

The hoodie, on the other hand, is a more substantial and informal garment. The knit sweater is dressier—it is better to wear it layered and to be used more. You can use both, but for different scenarios.

Is the CPFM We’re Good! If that’s so, is it the same Cherry Hoodie?

What is the best way to store it?
