What This Pair Is

At Human Made, we create our clothes to be worn, not cared for. The Human Made Chino Pants Beige is no exception. Printed text around back waist, brand logo on right, high density cotton twill, straight leg, heart shaped button on left back pocket. Made in Japan. The fabric has weight but isn’t stiff.

Who It Suits

This is the pair to wear without a thought for pants. The top of beige is paired with blue, white, grey and black. The straight cut isn’t tight or loose. Squatting or biking does not pinch as there is space in the thigh. Side pockets accommodate a phone. We checked.

How to Style It

Tees and Hoodies

The easy go is a Human Made t シャツ – white or grey with a logo, hem out, falling pant leg over the shoe. In colder weather bring on a ヒューマン-メイド-パーカー in grey or navy with the hood down.

Jackets and Denim

If you want to layer, throw on a Human Made Jacket – denim or workwear will both do the trick. The combination beige and indigo is OK for human Made デニム.

Shoes

Any shoes that are Canvas, runners, loafers are acceptable. Beige pants fit in with your shoes and that’s the reason.

Care Instructions

Time before the first washing.

Cotton shrinks. Inside out they turn and read the care tag. Wash inside out, closed with zipper and button, in a laundry bag and at cold or < 30°C temperatures. No bleach. Separate darks from lights – beige will absorb dye from dark denim.

Drying

Don’t tumble dry. Cotton twill is a material that will shrink in the dryer and won’t recover. Shake, extend the legs, hang or lay in the shade. Color fades in direct sunlight and faded beige becomes yellowish.

Ironing

Medium heat, iron on medium setting, using a cloth between the iron and fabric. Shine marks are left when touched directly.

FAQ

Are these large or small?

Pick by waist. It is not a slim cut, it is a straight one, so the thigh and seat aren’t too constricted. If you choose to use two sizes, be smaller to fit tighter, larger to fit looser.

Is it easy to get beige dirty?

Light cotton requires maintenance. Tackle coffee, soy sauce or mud spots promptly. Put them on 2 or 3 times between washings. Rest is for pants as well — wear pants daily and wear out the knees.

May they be washed in the washing machine?

Yes — inside out, in a bag, cold water, short spin. Friction caused by towels or zip-up jackets will cause the surface to become pill.

Will they shrink?

100% cotton chino will slightly shrink after the first wash. We allow it to have some space to grow. Make sure you don’t tumble dry, though. The original size is maintained when air dried.

What about if the leg is too long?

A little hem-staking is okay on a straight leg. Roll one time, or take to a tailor. Wash once before cutting in order to hem the length.
