Human Made Cactus Plant Flea Market x T-Shirt: Everything You Need to Know

It’s a Human Made and Cactus Plant Flea Market Collab. NIGO started Human Made. Cynthia Lu started CPFM. They’re very different people with very different styles. NIGO loves old American workwear. Cynthia makes stuff that looks like it was drawn by hand in a sketchbook. Some people wondered how that would work. It works.

The Shirt Itself

The Human Made Cactus Plant Flea Market x T-Shirt uses the same shape Human Made always uses. Boxy. Slightly shorter than what you’d expect. Then CPFM puts their graphics on it.

There’s the “WE’RE GOOD!” tee from summer 2020. That one shows what the Collab does well. The print looks rough. Unpolished. Like something you’d find at an actual flea market. Not like something a design team spent six months perfecting.

Sizing (Read This Before You Buy)

Here’s where people get confused.

Human Made tees don’t fit like Western brands. The shoulders sit closer to your actual shoulder bones. The chest has room. But the torso is cut shorter than a standard large.

So if you’re a medium in most brands and you want a relaxed fit  go up one size. If you want something fitted and retro-looking, keep your normal size. But be warned: the sleeves might feel short.

What the Cotton Feels Like

Heavy. That’s the first thing you notice.

It’s not the thin stuff you find at fast fashion stores. It doesn’t go see-through when you hold it up to light. After washing  it keeps its shape. Doesn’t stretch out or get floppy.

The prints are done with rubberized ink. Raised. You can run your fingers over the graphic and feel it sitting on top of the fabric.

How to Wear It

The shirt does most of the work. So keep everything else simple.

Denim and pants. Human Made denim is made on vintage looms. That’s why the texture feels different from regular jeans. A relaxed pair with a slight taper  medium wash  works best. Roll the cuffs once.

Shorts. When it’s hot, wear solid-color Human Made shorts. They won’t compete with the shirt’s graphic. And they usually have the same vintage military details as the tees.

Layering. If the shirt is a little loose  throw a zip jacket or hoodie over it. The Human Made Hoodie is good for this when it gets cold. Most of them have collars that stand up on their own.

Caps. The ヒューマン メイド キャップ keeps it casual. Match the cap to the print or go neutral. Both work.

Don’t overthink it. Throw the shirt on. Keep the rest simple.

How to Take Care of It

Graphic tees fall apart if you’re careless. So pay attention here.

Wash it cold. Inside out. That stops the print from rubbing against other clothes in the machine. No bleach. No fabric softener. Softener leaves stuff behind on the cotton and after a while  the print starts feeling gummy.

For drying.  use low heat. Or just hang it up. High heat shrinks cotton and cracks prints. If you want the shirt to stay the size you bought, let it air dry.

Ironing. Don’t put the iron directly on the graphic. Turn the shirt inside out first. Or put a thin cloth between the iron and the print.

Store it folded. Don’t leave it hanging on a wire hanger for months. The shoulders will stretch out.

Treat it like a good cotton shirt you want to keep for years. Not months.

More From Human Made

This shirt is one piece of a bigger brand.

Human Made makes jackets for when the weather turns. Hoodies for layering. Pants for everyday wear. Denim for when you want something heavier. There’s also the Human Made Jacket, Human Made Shorts and Human Made New Arrivals dropping regularly.

The brand started in Tokyo. In the Ural-Harajuku scene NIGO helped build back in the 1990s. Human Made Japan stores carry the full range. There’s one in Human Made Fukuoka too. And the brand has grown past clothing into home goods. Mugs. Rugs. Stuff like that. All with the same red heart logo.

Human Hope is the message underneath everything. The idea that clothes made by human hands  with human imperfections  still matter. That’s what NIGO built this brand on. And that’s what this shirt is about.

Questions People Ask

Does this shirt run small?
Yeah. Compared to Western brands  it does. Human Made cuts tees shorter in the torso and narrower in the shoulders. Want a relaxed fit? Go one size up. Between sizes? Go up.

Is it made in Japan?
Many Human Made core items are made in Japan. Production locations can vary by release though. What doesn’t change is the vintage-style construction and the quality of the cotton.

How do I wash it without ruining the print?
Cold water. Inside out. Gentle cycle. No bleach. Tumble dry low or hang dry. Don’t iron the graphic directly.

What is a Cactus Plant Flea Market?
It’s Cynthia Lu’s brand. The style is intentionally handmade-looking. Playful. A little strange. The collaboration with Human Made mixes that energy with NIGO’s vintage workwear background.

Where can I buy Human Made in Japan?
Direct stores in Tokyo and Fukuoka. Plus the official Human Made JP online store. New items drop weekly so availability changes fast.

Will the Collab restock?
Collab drops are usually one-time releases. Sometimes items come back through the official store or select retailers. No guarantee though. Keep an eye on Human Made New Arrivals.

What sizes are available?
Human Made tops usually range from small to XXXL. Collab releases might have limited size runs. Check the product page for what’s available.
